4.9 4.9 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Dr. Dan Livingstone has had a not so secret crush on Yorkshire lass Caryn Fielding since she started working at the shelter. Taking his courage in both hands, he asks her out on a date. To his delight, she agrees.

As a retired midwife, Caryn has had to deal with heartbreak on a grand scale. Shutting herself off from the rest of the world brought her to volunteer at the shelter; Caryn finds a measure of comfort as she cares for the cats and kittens there. Could dating Dan lead to disaster?

As their relationship deepens, Caryn's secrets and anxieties are revealed. Falling in love is never without its ups and downs; but together love really can conquer all, no matter how old you are.

This is an emotional story and nice ending to the Sheltered Love series. Dr. Dan Livingstone is divorced with two adult sons. He works as a vet and also helps at the no kill shelter. Caryn Fielding is widowed, no children and volunteers at the shelter. She lost her hearing and had to retire from her job as a midwife. Can she allow herself to step out of the box and try dating again? Her biggest fear is being left alone after sharing her life with someone again. Dan isn’t into casual dating and flings. He has had his eyes on Caryn for a while, but will she agree to date him? The plot is heartwarming with open and honest dialog. Disclosure; I received and e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.

so this is part of the Magic of books promotions and ARC and blitz tours . and given in exchange with an honest review .
so what do you do when you lose your hearing then your spouse .
and what happens when your spouse wants a divorce but find yourself drawn to someone but am not sure if they will take you or not .
and what happens when you deliver a baby and think its gone do you try to save the baby or let it move on .
and what if that experience makes you think you should let the one you love to let them go but what if they don't want to be let go .
find this and much more when you read and if you have not read any don't miss out read the box set ,may be cheaper but read them if you love romance animals and new romance that was once lost but is now found .

Dr. Daniel Livingstone is 50 years old and is the head veterinarian at the Emily Van De Walle Animal Shelter in Cedar Grove, Iowa. He has had a secret crush on one of the volunteers, Caryn Fielding for quite some time but has never approached her.

Caryn Fielding has had her share of heartbreak and devastation after contracting Meniere's disease and then losing her husband shortly after. She has always kept to herself and has been referred to as a "cat lady".

When Dan asks Caryn out they discuss their pasts and realize how much they enjoy their time together. Yet Caryn has reservations due to her disability and doesn't want to rely on anyone. Will she learn to lean on Dan or will she push him away in fear of losing him?

This story doesn't focus on past relationships but on the fear of losing someone close to you. Caryn shows us the weaknesses that many of us face in starting over with the chance of losing someone we love again. Her disabilities only burden her as she doesn't want to feel like she is putting extra strain on someone. This is a great book and great series!

Amanda Ward’s Champagne & Catnip Book 4 of the Sheltered Love series was a great ending story. Dr. Dan Livingstone finds himself in quite a pickle once he sees Caryn for the first time. But Caryn has a disability Dan doesn’t know about, which could make things difficult. Will he figure it out before he makes a fool of himself? I couldn’t wait to find out if they fell in love or not. The British slang makes it even more fun to read.

If you love a book populated with quirky characters, including cats, this book is for you. This is a second chance love story about a former midwife turned animal shelter volunteer and the vet who favors her.
